J. Khenfer, PhD

I am an Associate Professor of Marketing at Excelia Business School (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS-accredited, France). I joined Excelia in 2023 after years spent abroad. My international professional experience includes the United States as a visiting scholar at Duke University and the United Arab Emirates as an assistant professor at Zayed University. I hold a Ph.D. in Marketing from Aix-Marseille University (EQUIS-accredited, France). 


I am interested in addressing problems related to variations in consumer perceived control, that is, the belief that one can make positive things happen while avoiding negative outcomes. My research falls into three broad areas of consumer behavior: digital marketing, marketing communication, and social marketing. My research has been published in top-tier marketing and psychology journals, including Journal of Business Research, Journal of International Marketing, Applied Psychology: An International Review, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, among others.
